ITALY WAVE LOVE FESTIVAL PRESENTS
'Mojomatics' A EUROSONIC 2009
the Italian band at the 23rd edition of a new European talent
offered by festivals and radio
are the 'Mojomatics', the Italian band chosen by Italy Wave Love Festival to represent Italy at Eurosonic, European music festival in Groningen (Netherlands), funded by the European Community, to be held this year 15 to 17 January 2009.
Mojomatics have already performed in July on the Psycho Stage Wave of Italy in 2008, held in Livorno, then in August, arriving in South Africa for a tour organized by the five dates Italy Arezzo Wave Foundation through an agreement signed with the Italian Institute of Culture in Pretoria and South African music festival "Oppikoppi.
Formed in 2003, the duo Venetian drawing the attention of European public after only two years, thanks to their debut album "A sweet mama gonna hoodoo me" published by the German label Alien Snatch. The confirmation came in March 2008 with the release of "Do not Pretend That You Know Me," produced by the Ghost disk records, presented with a European tour and then released in USA on September 23.
Now the band is preparing to fly in Holland for three days in January that will among the protagonists of the 2009 Noorderslag Weekend.
Noorderslag Weekend is one of the most important European events in the field of contemporary music. The event is divided into two sections: SEMINAR Noorderslag, the European Conference of the music industry for live music, and EUROSONIC, festival which features the new European talent offered by the festival YOUrope public radio and web in Europe EBU (European Broadcast Union).
The Dutch city comes alive on weekends between 15 and 17 January, and right on the opening night of the festival will perform Mojomatics, with a showcase at De Beurs, one of the most important of the city hosts COCN the festival. On the same stage: Frank Turner (UK), The MOOoD (ROE) and The Kilians (de) in an evening sponsored by the German magazine Visions.
Eurosonic to Italy will be represented also by Baustelle (presented by Rai Radio 1) and Jennifer Gentle. A great showcase for the band, if you think that just to Eurosonic years ago Franz Ferdinand were launched, and yet another confirmation for FAWI that continues to stand for the many initiatives aimed at promoting Italian music abroad.
